What Are Card Tricks?

Card tricks are a traditional subdivision of close-up magic, just like coin magic, sponge balls, thimble magic, and philately. The involve one or more decks of one or more pre-printed pasteboards or "cards" arranged in a stack or "deck." Card tricks often involve a member of the audience choosing a card "at random," after which the magician reveals the identity of the card in some necromantic manner. Of course, dozens of other card effects are possible.

Fallen | Card to Lemon

Any Card at Any Number | Card Warp | Triumph
Card to Wallet | Card Stab | Torn and Restored
Three Card Monte | Ambitious Card | Card Through Window
One in Four | One in Five | Poker Deal | Out of This World

The information on this site is intended for use only by those with a sincere desire to learn nothing about magic and is for entertainment purposes only (in other words, don't try this stuff, particularly the dangerous parts). The Magicians Assistance Collective (MAC) frowns upon the use of magic in the formation of religions or to attract a cult following.

Magic is not real. Reality is not magic.
